Dihexa is a man-made compound. A lab at Washington State University built it. It was designed to help brain cells make new connections.
It works by switching on a system called HGF/c-Met. That system tells cells to grow and connect. In rats, that helped the brain build new links.
It is not . It is sold "for research only." That means it was never checked or approved for people to use.
What people use it for.
People use Dihexa hoping for a memory and focus boost. Some try it for early memory loss, like Alzheimer's. The headline you may have seen calls it "stronger than BDNF" (a protein that helps brain cells grow). That headline is from rats, not people.
Does it actually work?
In people, there is no proof at all. None.
There are zero human trials. There is not even one registered study we can find. The animal studies looked promising. But in April 2025, two of the main rat papers were pulled back (retracted) for data problems. So even the animal base under it is now shaky.
The dose people quote, 10 mg a day by mouth, is made up. It comes from forums, not from any real study. So we cannot even say "we do not know if it is safe at the right dose," because the dose itself is a guess.

How you take it.
Most people take it as a pill or a liquid. The common number floating around is 10 mg a day by mouth.
We want to be very clear: that dose is invented. No trial or proper study backs it. There is no safe, tested way to take this.
What to watch out for.
The serious stuff
- It switches on HGF/c-Met. That is the same growth pathway many cancers use to spread (stomach, lung, liver, brain). Turning it on for brain cells turns it on everywhere. If you or a close family member has had cancer, do not run this.
- There is zero human safety data. Nobody knows the side effects in people.
- The vial often is not even Dihexa. Lab tests by the community keep finding the powder is something else, a broken-down product, or a different compound. Without a lab test in hand, you do not know what you bought.

Here are the lanes, but be warned: this is one of the hardest peptides to buy safely.
- Brand. None. No Dihexa exists.
- . Not really available. No real pharmacy has a legal reason to make it.
- Research-only (). The whole market, about $50 to $140 a month, often as pills. This is also where the fake-product problem lives.
- . Available from overseas chemical sellers, but you almost never can confirm what it is.
The big red flag: lab tests keep showing the powder sold as "Dihexa" is not Dihexa. Demand a recent third-party report. If the seller cannot give one, assume it is not the real thing.
Our honest take.
The reasons up. The main rat papers were pulled back in 2025. The pathway it turns on is a known cancer-spread pathway. There is zero human safety data. And the vial often is not even the right molecule.
We would not run it on ourselves. We would not run it on a family member with memory trouble. We would not even run a careful test. Skip it.
