How to inject (subq).
Insulin syringe. Pinch fat. 45 or 90 degrees. Rotate sites. Sharps container.
Most peptides are injected subcutaneously (under the skin, into fat). It's not as scary as it sounds. People with diabetes do this five times a day for life.
Supplies
U-100 insulin syringe (31 gauge, ½ inch is standard). Alcohol swabs. Sharps container (yellow plastic bin, $5 on Amazon). Don't put loose needles in your trash.
Where
Anywhere with a soft fat layer: belly (~2 inches from the navel), outer thigh, back of the upper arm. Rotate sites. Don't hit the same spot twice in a week. Same-spot injection causes lumps and slows absorption.
How
Wipe the site with alcohol. Pinch a fold of fat between your fingers. Push the needle in at 45° if you're lean or 90° if you have more fat. Push the plunger slowly. Pull the needle straight out. Discard into sharps. Done.
What's normal
A small drop of blood. A faint bruise. Mild stinging for 30 seconds. What's not normal. Pain that lasts more than a few hours. Redness spreading outward. Pus. Fever. Stop and see a doctor.
