Hexarelin is a lab-made built to do one thing: lean on your pituitary gland until it releases growth hormone. The technical name for that job is a .

Out of its whole family, hexarelin gives the strongest growth hormone burst for its size. That is its main selling point.

But there is a big problem built into it. Your body stops listening to it fast. After 2 to 4 weeks of daily use, the burst shrinks and the effect fades. Scientists call this desensitization. Switching brands will not fix it. It is just how the molecule works.

It is sold "for research only" (). It is not .

What people use it for.

People take hexarelin to try to raise their growth hormone. The hope is more muscle, faster recovery, or an anti-aging effect.

Some people are also drawn to it for the heart. Hexarelin touches a separate target on heart cells. There is animal data that hints at heart protection.

But that heart idea is mostly from rats. There is no human trial showing it helps the heart. So that use is just a theory right now.

Does it actually work?

Not in any proven way for people.

There are zero large human trials (no Phase 2 or Phase 3). It does raise growth hormone short-term. We know that much. But the effect drops off within 2 to 4 weeks as your body tunes it out.

The heart-protection claim is from animal studies (mostly rats). No human outcome trial backs it up.

So the honest read: it makes a strong burst, then quits. Long-term safety in people is simply not studied.

How you take it.

People take it as a small shot under the skin. Most use it once or twice a day.

The community range is about 100 mcg per dose. Its is short, around 55 minutes, so the burst comes and goes fast.

Because the body stops responding in a few weeks, daily forever does not make sense. If anyone runs it, a short on-and-off is the only smart way, not taking it every day for months. There is no proven, official dose, because it was never approved.

What to watch out for.

The common stuff

Hexarelin can bump two stress hormones, cortisol and prolactin. That is a downside compared to cleaner options. It can also cause water bloat.

The serious stuff

  • It raises , a body-wide "grow" message to your cells. That is fine for muscle, but if a cell has already started turning cancerous, that same message is fuel on it. Skip it if you have or recently had cancer.
  • It is banned by WADA (the sports anti-doping group). If you compete in a tested sport, it will fail a test.
  • There is no long-term human safety data at all.

If you are weighing a GH at all, the lab monitoring is the part to plan for, not the part to skip.

Where people get it.

Hexarelin only really comes one way for people.

  • Brand: none exists. It was never approved.
  • : rare. A few pharmacies make it, about $140–$280 a month. Most clinics avoid it because it stops working so fast.
  • Research-only (): the main channel. About $35–$110 a month.
  • Gray-market raw: cheap, around $5–$11 a month, but unregulated and illegal to import for use.

Red flag to know: hexarelin looks a lot like its cousin GHRP-6, so sellers swap them. If a lab report shows the weight at 873 instead of 887, you are getting GHRP-6, not hexarelin. Without a real lab test you cannot tell them apart by eye.

Skip it, and here is why
The math does not work. It gives the strongest burst in its family, but your body tunes it out the fastest. So you are always chasing an effect that keeps slipping away.

If someone really wanted a GH , ipamorelin beats hexarelin on side effects every time. Ipamorelin does not spike cortisol or prolactin.

And remember the bigger picture: no human trials, raised , a cancer worry, and a sports ban. For most people, that is enough reason to pass.
