In plain words.

BPC-157 stands for Body Protection Compound. It is a , a short chain of 15 amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. It was first found in human stomach juice.

It may be the most talked-about on the internet. It is also one of the least tested in real people.

It is sold "for research only." That is the label. There is no version.

What people use it for.

People use it to heal injuries faster. Think torn tendons, hurt ligaments, and gut problems.

Lifters use it after a pull or strain. Some people try it after surgery. It even gets used in dogs by some vets.

The pitch is "heal in weeks, not months." The catch is the proof for that is in rats.

Does it actually work?

In rats, the healing data is strong. In people, we know almost nothing.

There are zero randomized human trials. There are only a handful of case reports. There are about 340 animal studies, mostly in rats, over about 15 years of off-label use.

So most claims you read are true in rats. The human proof to back them up does not exist yet. That is the honest gap.

Your gut makes a trace amount. What you inject is a lab-made copy at far higher doses. And it heals by growing new blood vessels, the same move tumors use to grow. Nobody has tested whether that matters in people.

It's better than surgery or PRP for tendons.

There are about 340 studies and almost all are in rats. Zero are randomized human trials. Proven in rats is not proven.

How you take it.

People use it as a small shot under the skin, as close to the injury as they can. The common protocol is 250 to 500 mcg, twice a day, for a 4-week course.

Here is the dose math people use. Take a 5 mg vial of powder. This kind of dried powder is called . Add 2 mL of to mix it. That mixing step is called . Now you have 2.5 mg per mL. So 0.1 mL (10 units on a ) gives you 250 mcg.

None of this dose came from a human trial. Do not buy the oral pill form. Peptides this size barely absorb when swallowed, so oral BPC-157 is close to useless.

What to watch out for.

People report few side effects, but remember there are no real human trials, so the side effect picture is mostly unknown. The one risk worth taking seriously is the blood-vessel question.

  • BPC-157 builds new blood vessels. This is called . Tumors grow by building blood vessels too. We do not know if this matters in people. Nobody does. So skip it if you or close family have had cancer.
  • Do not it with TB-500. Both build blood vessels, so the risk adds up.
  • Do not buy the oral "arginate" form. It barely absorbs.

Where people get it.

Here are the ways people get it, from safest to riskiest.

  • Brand. There is none. No FDA approval, and no clear path to one.
  • . Some pharmacies still ship it for $150 to $400 a month, but the legal status got shaky after late 2024. They sell under contested rules.
  • Research-only (). The main supply, about $50 to $150 a month. Sold "for research only." A lab test called is the only honest identity check.
  • . Cheapest, about $10 to $20 a month, paid by crypto. Vendor quality swings a lot.

When you buy, ask for a . That is a lab report showing what is in the vial. The number one test sellers skip is , which checks for bacterial junk that can make you sick. Make sure the COA includes it.

Our honest take.

This is the most hyped on the internet and one of the least tested in actual people: about 340 rat studies, zero human trials. That gap is the whole story. If you have a stubborn tendon, ligament, or gut injury that real rehab has not fixed in 8-plus weeks, and your close family tree is clean of cancer, a planned 4-week course near the injury is a defensible bet.

If cancer runs in your family, leave this one alone. The blood-vessel question is real and unanswered.

If you do try it, keep it short. Do not run it for months. Do not it with TB-500. Do not buy the oral form. Four weeks, then off, and judge it from there.
