TRIUMPH-3 hit its primary endpoint cleanly. The 12mg/wk arm produced 24.4% mean weight loss at 88 weeks — beating the 22.5% tirzepatide SURMOUNT-1 number and the 14.9% semaglutide STEP-1 number at comparable timepoints.
Caveats: the 12mg arm had 23% discontinuation due to GI events vs 9% on placebo. The 8mg arm produced 19.1% weight loss with 14% discontinuation — that's the dose most clinicians will reach for once approved.
Approval timing:
Lilly will submit the obesity NDA in Q3 2026 with a Priority Review request. Realistic approval window is H1 2027. The diabetes (TRIUMPH-DM) and MASH (TRIUMPH-MASH) trials are still running.
